Tier II Field Support Technician

As a Tier 2 Field Support Technician your role will be offering planned and reactive support to clients primarily at their location of business.

As a Tier 2 Field Support Technician your role will be offering planned and reactive support to clients primarily at their location of business. This will include support of many components including, but not limited to; reoccurring routine onsite visits for consulting and preventative maintenance, networking equipment, all computer related components, servers and all infrastructure, software components, and any other technology needs of the client. As a Tier 2 technician you have a more proven level of comfort and consultative presence with the client both remotely and onsite. In addition, you will have the ability to look beyond the immediate issue to see new opportunities that will help advance client productivity. This will include engaging with clients to investigate reported issues; investigating and resolving issues remotely and on site for clients; deliveries of equipment on site to the client and ensuring they are setup correctly and operating at the level they need; and providing accurate and comprehensive documentation (legacy and newly implemented services, products, systems, contracts, and vendors) for support.

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities:

  • At client site, investigate and resolve issues surrounding, and documentation of, a variety of networking products, including, but not limited to, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Onsite investigate and resolve issues surrounding any equipment, licensing, and services, while maintaining SeedSpark’s technical standards.
  • Investigate and resolve issues surrounding PCs or laptops according to client’s user profile settings./li>
  • Investigate and resolve issues surrounding, Microsoft cloud-based products and services (such as Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, and Teams Phones), domain management, threat protection, and all associated licensing; and implementation of basic related services (such as creating email accounts or changing passwords).
  • Documentation of all new equipment, services, etc., according to SeedSpark’s documentation requirements and standards: record any and all changes made to a client’s environment to maintain a continuum of service standards.
  • Check all work orders, assigned tickets, job notes, department information, and department tasks on a daily basis for accuracy and completeness.
  • Troubleshooting, configuration, database administration, and repair for server, network, infrastructure, Data Center, email, file shares, and other infrastructure issues.
  • Identify trends in issue reporting, inform leadership and work with the team to determine preventative solutions including recommendations of upgrades, replacements, or training.
  • Provide solutions for a wide variety of technical problems.
  • Identify areas of opportunity and inform leadership and Training to develop tools to increase overall knowledge and trouble shooting skills.
  • Consistently seeks to find ways to improve the team and operations of the company through out of the box thinking.
  • Monitor and assist with Network or Server alerts and help team to resolve as quickly as possible involving appropriate team members and working with Client.
  • Review technical documentation for usability, flow and accuracy.
  • Capture onsite information during on-site Client interactions, as appropriate, including photos and specific equipment details to assist in engineering.

Requirements:

  • 2+ Years of network and computer troubleshooting, implementation, and support experience.
  • Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
  • Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance on systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
  • Ability to communicate technical guidance and instruction to users on the use of PC and/or server applications and systems.
  • Solid working knowledge of trouble shooting technologies.
  • Experience with PC and Mac – operating systems and hardware.
  • Network, Microsoft, Security and Vendor certifications preferred.
  • Ability to work across various industries.
